JOB SUMMARY (overview of job): Directs disaster response or crisis management activities. Provides disaster response and training, including but not limited to Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) & National Incident Management System (NIMS). Prepares emergency plans and procedures for natural (e.g., tornadoes, blizzards, floods, earthquakes), technological (e.g., power failure, transportation failure), human (e.g., mass casualty incident, terrorism, hostage situation), and hazardous materials incidents (e.g., exposures, chemical spills, vapor releases) as outlined in the Hospital Hazard Vulnerability Analysis (HVA).The EMC will serve as a liaison with other hospitals, internal and external committees and task forces, first response agencies and government representatives. Serves in a command staff or general staff position during public health drills/exercises and actual responses.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE. Ability to design, host, and facilitate stakeholder presentations, exercises, and drills.

Excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills. Ability to design, host, and facilitate stakeholder presentations, exercises, and drills. General administrative skills such as strategic and tactical planning, research and report writing, training and education techniques, interpretation of technical information, general computer skills, oral presentation skills, the ability to coordinate diverse work units, and to manage multiple projects and priorities.

Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with a variety of people. High level of interpersonal skills needed to effectively coordinate programs for a variety of audiences. A high level of interpersonal skills in order to effectively represent the hospital to outside agencies.

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree and two years training and experience in one of the following areas:

Emergency Planning and Management, Emergency Based Medicine or Emergency Medical Services strongly preferred. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case by case basis.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: ICS 200, 700 & 800 or willing to obtain within first 6 months of employment

VIEW JOBS 11/15/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-13T00:00 JOB SUMMARY The Same Day Service (SDS) Technician is responsible for the basic management of patients and indirect care in SDS under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), Charge Nurse, and/or Director. These duties include, but are not limited to vital signs, specimen deliveries, appropriate documentation in the EMR, orders office & departmental supplies, completes work orders, stocking rooms and putting away supplies. Keeping the department work area clean and organized, being mindful of infection control policies and safety initiatives established by the facility. Performs detailed and accurate assignments, compiles and organizes patient information into procedural chart for the next day. Follows hospital policy related to patient medical record access, HIPPA regulations, and follows organizational Behavioral Standards. Answers phones & directs calls, communicates effectively with team throughout the shift. Assists with rooming patients and escorting discharged patients as directed by Charge Nurse. Other duties as designated by supervising RN KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: 2 years hospital experience preferred. Knowledge of patient safety measures, computer skills, communication skills and telephone etiquette required. Medical terminology strongly recommended. EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent. Completes all mandatory education as required and assigned. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY: Current BLS Certification is required. Aptitudes: Ability to achieve cognitive, organization and emotional maturity to deal effectively with multiple tasks, stresses, deadlines, difficult situations and/or customers. Possesses interpersonal/communication skills necessary for effective, non-judgmental, and empathetic patient care and customer relations. Open to feedback and open to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments.
