ER Nurse: Full-Time

The Emergency Room RN is responsible for the observation, assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of care; health teaching and counseling of the ill, injured, or infirm; and the promotion of wellness, maintenance of health, and prevention of illness of others. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed or authorized by a duly licensed practitioner authorized by the laws of this state to prescribe such medications and treatments.

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Utah Registered Nurse License, Compact license allowed; Current BLS Health Care Provider certification, ACLS and TNCC certifications within 12 months of hire and PALS within 2 years of hire; ENPC is highly recommended.

B. Education: Graduate of a school of Nursing. BSN is desirable.

C. Experience: Emergency Room experience as an RN preferred.

Accelerate your nursing career by joining our Specialty Training Apprenticeship for Registered Nurses (StaRN) program. Our 17 week Nurse Graduate Program is designed to help you prepare to succeed in an acute care hospital setting. The program is comprised of a combination of didactic training, high definition simulation and clinical preceptorship. As an RN in our StaRN program, you receive the education and support necessary to develop the judgment, skill and knowledge you'll need to become the highest caliber nurse. You will have the opportunity to be mentored by the best, most highly educated and trained nurses within our facilities. During the StaRN program, you will work with instructors to complete class assignments, skills training and exercises. Then, you will work with your preceptor during the preceptorship that follows. At successful program completion, you will be a valued team member with specialty training, established relationships and familiarity with our values and culture. Our next StaRN program will begin June 17, 2019 Program Schedule Part 1 – Classroom Training (First 9 weeks: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with intermittent home study days). Classes are taught in Murray, UT. Mileage reimbursement is available. * Instructor-led classroom training * State-of-the-art simulation including comprehensive debriefs * Self-directed learning Part 2 - Clinical Preceptorship (8 weeks: Three 12 hours shifts, Rotating Shifts) * Conducted in the ED at Mountain View Hospital * Regular development meetings between the student, the preceptor and your Director This position requires a two year, full time commitment. The first year is a commitment to the ED at Mountain View Hospital.
