Emergency Medical Technology Faculty - 12 Month

The 12-month faculty member is responsible for teaching both didactic and clinical instruction.

Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred. Nationally Registered Paramedic (NRP) with a minimum of (5) five years experience as an advanced life support clinician required, a Maryland Paramedic license preferred, if not must obtain within 6 months of employment and (2) two years of experience as an EMS educator at the collegiate level (Equivalent will be considered). Maryland Instructor Certification Review Board (MICRB) Emergency Services Instructor in the EMS Discipline required.

American Heart Association Basic and Advanced Cardiac Life Support Instructor Certifications and PALS preferred. NAEMT Program Course Instructor (AMLS, PHTLS, GEMS, EPC, TECC, and /or TCCC) preferred.

• Provide didactic and clinical instruction

• Coordinate adjunct faculty assigned to courses.

• Conduct simulated experiences.

• Participate in committees as assigned.

• Assure assigned lectures are current and contain active teaching techniques

• Serves as advisor to students as assigned.

• Participates in the review of courses and curriculum.

• Develop and manage online and face to face courses, curricula and academic policy.

• Develop an individual professional development plan.

• Perfects teaching skills by using supervisor, peer and student feedback.

• Participates in School of Health Professions activities such as School Orientation and Interdisciplinary activities.
