  • As the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), you#will provide all aspects of basic life support (BLS) treatment and transport of patients in the pre-hospital emergency setting. Evaluate the nature and extent of acute illness or injury and establish priorities for BLS and ALS treatment. #Carry out procedures based upon Statewide Treatment Protocols, Standard Operating Guidelines and Medical Control direction when applicable. #Manage the emergency patient#s environment in a manner that assures optimal on-scene care as well as expedient transportation to the most appropriate medical facility. This includes efficient utilization of EMS resources such as local first responders, ALS and special resources/equipment. #Performs all skills applicable to the Scope of Practice for Massachusetts certified EMT#s.
