  • Administers first aid treatment to and arranges for transport of sick or injured persons to medical facility, working as member of emergency medical team.

  • Determines nature and extent of illness or injury, or magnitude of catastrophe, to establish first aid procedures to be followed or need for additional assistance, basing decisions on statements of persons involved, examination of victim or victims, and knowledge of emergency medical practice.

  • Administers prescribed first aid treatment at site of emergency, or in specially equipped vehicle, performing such activities as application of splints, administration of oxygen, treatment of minor wounds or abrasions, or administration of artificial resuscitation.

  • Communicates with professional medical personnel at emergency treatment facility to obtain instructions regarding further treatment and to arrange for reception of victims at treatment facility.

  • Provides protective services by making periodic tours to check for irregularities and to inspect protection devices and fire control equipment.

  • Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergency, bomb threat, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergency, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents.

  • Prepares logs and reports as required.


  • With or without reasonable accommodation, the physical and mental requirements of this job may include the following: seeing, hearing, speaking, and writing clearly. Occasional reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling. Frequent sitting, standing and walking, which may be required for long periods of time, and may involve climbing stairs and walking up inclines and on uneven terrain. Additional physical requirements may include, frequent lifting and/or moving up to 10 pounds and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 25 pounds.

  • One or more years of related Emergency Medical Technician experience preferred.

  • Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal certification requirements for EMT - basic (EMT-1) level and licensing requirements for Security Officers.

VIEW JOBS 3/22/2019 10:10:41 AM 2019-06-20T10:10 <span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">GHG is looking for a Radiology Technician to provide services for the inmates housed at the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) and Federal Prison Camp (FPC), Ashland, located in Ashland, KY.<br />  <br /> <strong>Available Position:</strong> Radiology Technician<br /> <br /> <strong>Place of Performance:</strong> Services will be performed on-site in the Health Services Department at the FCI Ashland located at State Route 716, Ashland, Kentucky, 41105.<br />  <br /> <strong>Facility Information: </strong>The Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Ashland is a low security institution housing male inmates with a satellite camp that houses minimum security inmates. The facility is located in the highlands of northeastern Kentucky, 125 miles east of Lexington and 5 miles southwest of Ashland.<br /> <br /> <strong>Employer Information:</strong>  Global Healthcare Group (GHG) is a healthcare staffing company specializing in staffing solutions for government and private sector clients across the United States. One (1) session will equal one (1) hour. The facility is expected to require an average of 6 sessions per day. The Radiology Technician’s schedule shall not exceed 30 hours per week. The actual hours of work will be determined by the Health Services Administrator.<br />  <br /> <strong>Period of Performance: </strong>temporary to cover a leave of absence.<br /> <br /> <strong>Description of Services (includes but it is not limited to): </strong><br /> All duties shall be performed in accordance with standards and methods generally accepted within the field of Radiology Technician Services, and compliance with all Federal and State policy and regulations. The contractor shall adhere to all standards and regulations associated with the Joint Commission (JC) and American Correctional Association Foundation/Core Standards for Adult Correctional Institutions and Bureau of Prison policies. The contractor’s performance shall be monitored by the Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). The contractor must be able to work with an inmate population from a variety of cultural, regional, racial and ethnic backgrounds. The Clinical Director and/or Bureau of Prisons’ (BOP) Physician(s) will retain professional responsibility for all patients referred to radiology. The contractor shall provide the following Radiology Technician services which include, but are not limited to, the items listed below. Therefore, the contractor shall be capable of performing any and all radiology procedures needed without any technical support. Perform routine radiologic procedures ordered by the medical staff for the inmate population at the institution. Transmit, retrieve X-ray images and reports electronically, and scan reports into inmates’ Bureau Electronic Medical Record (BEMR). Receive training to retrieve radiographic consults from BEMR and schedule them to perform all radiographic procedures. Work with an inmate population from a variety of cultural, racial, religious and ethnic backgrounds. Evaluate radiographic equipment for calibrations and repairs. Possess knowledge of basic emergency situations that may occur during special radiographic procedures. Schedule exams and maintain records. Possess knowledge of various pathological abnormalities as demonstrated by radiographic imaging. Independently assess and select technical exposure factors and positions necessary to obtain a proper quality diagnostic exam. Receive patients and explain procedures to alleviate undue anxiety. Independently perform all radiographic procedures; i.e., chest, bone, skull, spine, and portable x-rays, etc. Notify Radiologist, or referring Physician of any preliminary abnormalities seen while patient is undergoing an exam, so that additional views, or exams can be ordered if needed. Coordinate transfer of patient radiologic records to ensure continuity of care.<br /> <br /> <strong>Position Requirements/Qualifications</strong><br /> The contract employee shall be fully licensed to perform radiological procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist. The contractor shall be certified in Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association and have a minimum of two (2) years of experience providing Radiological Technician services. The contractor must possess and submit with their quotation, evidentiary documentation of their graduation from an accredited school of radiology technology. In the case of a company, the qualified individual selected to perform these services on behalf of the contractor must be identified at the time the quotation is submitted. Verification of credentials (state licensed if applicable federal licensed).
