WSP is currently initiating a search for Emergency Managers who are eager to assist during disasters on an on-call basis as a reservist employee, with the availability to deploy with little or no advance notice.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead Emergency Management team, providing services to clients preparing for, responding to, and recovering from disasters nationwide.

  • Manage Emergency Operations Center and/or Field Staging Area operations prior to, during, and post-disaster.

  • Lead and perform oversight of on-site duties including logistics, supply, cost/documentation and/or resource unit functions.

  • Attend periodic training throughout the year to maintain deployment eligibility.

  • Support Emergency Management Project Management functions.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in an Emergency Management role (Response, Recovery or related)

  • Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management, Public Administration, or similar/related concentration

  • Broad knowledge of Emergency Management principles, methods and techniques

  • FEMA Emergency Management Institute Independent Study

  • Professional Development Series certification
  • Travel Required
  • Must be able to deploy to disaster area, with little or no advance notice and potentially for long durations
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP's Motor Vehicle screening.

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Emergency Management (or related field)

  • Asset Management and Supply Logistical Operational Experience

  • Previous experience managing Field Staging Areas or state Emergency Operations Center or related environment

The successful applicant will be instrumental in providing interesting new capabilities to a collection of Internet companies that are exploiting the limits of interpersonal communications. This position fulfills a critical role as the liaison between the international Product Management team and the Software Development organization. This position plays an integral role in project discovery and definition, as well as creating the epics and user stories for roadmap projects under his/her purview. Once an initiative is under development, the Agile Product Manager works with the internal software development team to provide ongoing guidance, support, and direction as the new product initiative is driven to completion. What You'll Do: * Create the Epics and User Stories that drive new product capabilities, working closely with the Agile software development team for international emergency services to create the software systems and solutions that deliver competition-beating access and control of Bandwidth's communication services. * Provide ongoing support to the software development team, conveying the functional architectural vision and constraints during the software development cycle. * Develop product ideas into solutions that can be reviewed and validated with potential customers. Product concepts will include prototypes to demonstrate product capabilities, as well as concept-level strategy and technology descriptions. * Drive the build versus buy decisions as needed, and identify key technologies needed to deliver new products with each product release. * Participate actively in the Bandwidth Enterprise Architecture community, staying current with technologies and techniques that will move our business forward. What You Need: * 5+ years of experience working in software engineering, software architecture, or in a product management or solutions architect role with large-scale telecommunications software development projects. * Experience with emergency services software development for IP-based telecommunications networks. * Demonstrated skill in developing products with the customer or partner-facing APIs and with the Software as a Service (SaaS) delivery model. * Experience in providing effective leadership, and support to developers through the creation of Agile backlog assets and ongoing day-to-day guidance, resulting in development outcomes steeped in productivity and fun. * Bachelor degree (within an engineering or computer science discipline strongly preferred) Bonus Points: * Experience with telecommunications-involved software preferred * International experience with software products and services preferred * Good understanding of the DevOps methodology and micro services * A fearless, never-settle, attitude that will challenge the way we do things, and a refusal to accept the status quo.
