Position Overview:
Under the supervision of the Program Support Manager, the Emergency Management Supervisor is responsible for internal programmatic support of the Office of Epidemiology, Surveillance, and Emerging Diseases. This position oversees a team to develop policies and trainings, as well as coordinating OESED field operations, to ensure OESED is prepared for daily and emergency operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsible for the development and maintenance of internal policies, procedures, and standard operating guides.
Oversees the coordination and execution of OESED field operations, including assessments, and all necessary logistics and equipment needed to conduct field operations. Maintain all OESED equipment and supplies, including a complete and up to date inventory.
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely records of all outbreaks and disaster responses for OESED activities. Provide reports and data, including historical information, when requested from internal and external stakeholders, such as FEMA.
Conduct regular trainings and exercises for OESED staff to maintain operational readiness. Coordinate with the Office of Public Health Preparedness and Response for multi-departmental or external partners.
Other duties as assigned, including special tasks involved in responding to an emergency event.

Requirements
Education:
Experience:
At least two (2) years of increasingly responsible experience in emergency management, strategic planning, research, project management or program development with:
At least one (1) of those years in a supervisory capacity.
Must have current valid Texas Driver's License.
