  • Supports Agency planning for Emergency Management (EM) which includes all-hazard Emergency Preparedness, and Continuity of Operations.
  • Interprets government regulations and applicable codes, and advise Legacy Management on the best course of action to ensure compliance.
  • Designs and conducts exercises, drills, and table top work groups.
  • Trains or provides technical training content for response personnel, observers, personnel, evaluators, and exercise/drill participants.
  • Develops and maintains programs, procedures, hazard analysis, and contingency plans based on a risk based approach and proposes solutions that monitor, evaluate and enable resolution to safeguard the workforce, reduce property loss, and support Legacy Management mission continuity.
  • Through all-hazards mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery program efforts, EM orchestrates unity of effort across Legacy Management.
  • Prepares and conducts briefings and overviews to educate Legacy Management personnel and submits position and information papers in response to DOE Order 151.1D requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Emergency Management, Political Science, Homeland Security, Public Policy, Engineering, or related degree.
  • Experience establishing overall guidance of emergency management work, including preparing plans or coordinating complex emergency management activities; understanding regulations, laws, guidelines, policies, and procedures related to DOE comprehensive emergency management systems, particularly in a safety and health environment; determining objectives, milestones, sequence and timing of key program events; presenting objective analysis to senior management staff leading to policy recommendations; and planning and evaluating programs. Experience working in, leading, and implementing a robust Incident Command System; and developing, conducting, and evaluating drills and exercises in accordance with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP).
  • Completion of FEMA ICS-100, 200, 300, 400, 700, and 800 training courses (or some combination/equivalency desired)
  • Due to the nature of the government contract requirements and/or clearances requirements, US citizenship is required.
