HII - MDIS is currently seeking an Emergency Management Specialist to work out of their Jacksonville, NC office.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include but not be limited to the following):

  • Serve as a primary instructor for emergency management training.

  • Ensure emergency management curriculum is current per applicable policy, guidance, Instructions, and/or orders; participate in curriculum reviews as needed.

  • Develop new emergency management curriculum as required to meet identified shortfalls in training identified through analysis, operational feedback that has been validated by Program Manager, or Program Manager initiative.

  • Coordinate, track, and provide required administrative and logistical support of emergency management training program wide.

Qualifications and Experience :

Core Competencies

  • Substantial knowledge of Federal, State, Local, and Tribal Emergency Management, DoD and Marine Corps Emergency Management program.

  • Familiarity with Defense Support to Civil Authorities or Foreign Humanitarian Assistance.

  • Detailed knowledge of Emergency Operations Center operations, equipment, set-up, organization and command and control.

  • Working knowledge of the emergency management process.

  • Sound working knowledge of standard training processes and procedures.

  • Ability to clearly communicate, build relationships, promote and market emergency management program procedures and requirements.

  • Ability to work independently during disasters, emergencies, conferences, briefings and normal day-to-day situations.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the MCICOM Installation CBRNE Preparedness Program.


  • BS/BA plus 15 years' Experience

  • Security Clearance equal to DoD Secret

  • Ability to Travel up to 25% of the time including internationally


  • ICS 300 and 400 Certification

  • Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program Certification

Security :

  • All candidates will be subject to a pre-employment background investigation and drug screening per HII requirements

  • The selected applicants will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
