Summary

  • Travel RN Emergency Department North Region Market

  • Medical Center of the Rockies, Loveland, CO, PoudreValley Hospital and Harmony Freestanding ED, Fort Collins, and Greeley HospitalED, Greeley, CO

Provides direct patient care using the nursing process inaccordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with thepolicies, values, and mission of the organization.

Travel RN for our Emergency Department North Region Market (float to all North Region EDs) - Need up to 4 Travel RNs for Days

Days

VARIED, 6 weekend shifts per scheduledperiod.
2+ years ED experience in high volumehigh acuity facilities.

BLS, ACLS, PALS OR ENPC, TNCC

Jobduties

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plansbased on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize availableresources. Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition asappropriate.

  • Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinatepatient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral andspiritual/psychosocial support needs.

  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family andprovides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, andcircumstances.

  • Effectively delegates patient care to ancillarypersonnel. May precept student nurses and new hires.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited (ACEN or CCNE)Registered/Professional Nursing program if less than 3 years'experience.

  • 6 months registered nurseexperience.

  • State licensure as a Registered Nurse(RN).

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS OR ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS through the

American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the ProfessionalRescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS, ACLS,PALS OR ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS card must begood through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must beissued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPRfor the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescueris only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an AmericanHeart Association sanctioned course.)

Skills and Abilities:

  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills,decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be ableto work in a fast paced environment, and take appropriate action. FollowsStandard Precautions using personal protective equipment asrequired.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

  • Experience in a teaching/academichospital

  • Two years traveling experience

  • 2+ years Emergency Department RNexperience

Float Pool for med/surg - Medical, Ortho, Cardiac, Trauma-Surgical ASAP - opening 6 overflow PCU beds to help accommodate capacity prior to Greeley Hospital.
