Summary

Provides pre-hospital continuing education and quality improvement programs. Maintains emergency response programs, including hazardous materials response, hospital incident command system, and emergency preparedness initiatives. Develops funding programs and responds to grant requests.

Job duties

  • Serves as a liaison between pre-hospital care agencies, hospital departments, community agencies, and institutions concerned with pre-hospital care and emergency response.

  • Manages the Hazardous Materials Emergency Response program with other staff. Assists with hazard and vulnerability analysis and emergency operations planning. Collaborates on implementation of homeland security, incident command, and other emergency preparedness education, ensuring compliance with regulatory entities.

  • Serves as a technical specialist and subject matter expert in hazardous materials and emergency management. Promotes clinical practice of pre-hospital care providers. Manages quality improvement programs in collaboration with EMS Medical Directors

  • Reports on statistics, annual summation, and budget requests. Maintains continuing education programs for pre-hospital care providers. Coordinates integration and evaluation of practical skills evaluation for pre-hospital care providers.

Minimum Required Education

  • High School diploma or GED.

Required Experience

  • 5 years of directly related experience.

License and Certifications

  • EMT-P certification from State of Colorado

  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider card

  • American Heart Association ACLS Healthcare Provider card

The Medical Science Liaison develops professional relationships with thought leaders and academic centers and translates those relationships into business and research opportunities, as well as providing timely, accurate, unbiased fair-and balanced product information to internal and external customers. The Medical Science Liaison disseminates technical and scientific presentations to critical stakeholders including: key institutions, key opinion leaders, and insurance companies. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Interpret and effectively communicate relevant medical and scientific topics and literature; * Maintain thorough and up-to-date knowledge of disease state, clinical information, and product data within assigned therapeutic area; * Support and facilitate medical communications and publications (e.g. abstracts, case studies/series, review articles, etc.); * Initiate and manage scientific studies for use in post-marketing investigations; * Assist with the development and review of scientific marketing presentation materials; * Contribute to development of databases of medical and scientific information regarding products and similar/competing products; * Support marketing and sales teams with medical and scientific expertise; * Work effectively across multidisciplinary groups in a timely fashion in support of business outcomes; * Support sales training activities by serving as a product expert in training sessions; * Present complex medical and scientific ideas fluently to internal and external audiences including, health care professionals, managed care organizations, key health care decision makers, patents functions and Executives; * Attend major conventions, symposiums, advisory board programs, and congresses to provide medical and scientific support to internal and external customers; * Identify, develop, and maintain strong working relationships with Key Opinion Leaders. What do you bring? A feeling for new chances and the drive to take up new challenges * Advanced scientific or clinical degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, etc.); * 8 years related experience with at least 4 years' as an MSL in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device space; * Experience in osteoarthritis, orthobiologics or orthopedics preferred; * Demonstrated computer experience with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point; * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills and attention to detail; * Possess advanced level scientific knowledge and professional demeanor to earn and maintain the respect of all health care professionals; * Willingness and ability to travel up to 80%; * Ability to work well within a team and relate to all levels within the company; * Must possess a professional and friendly attitude; * Working cooperatively with others to help a team or work group achieve its goals; * Effectively managing one's time and resources to ensure that work is completed efficiently.
