At L3 you will have the opportunity to work with highly recognized engineering and manufacturing teams who are engaged in the design, development, and building of highly-sophisticated electronics equipment that are used in a variety of defense and commercial applications.

We are currently seeking a Embedded Software Engineer with experience writing embedded software. This individual will have the opportunity to work on Infrared and/or Space Product lines and be responsible for a variety of software tasks throughout the full lifecycle. Responsibilities include designing, coding, documenting, and testing embedded systems. General knowledge of hardware and communication protocols is a huge plus.

Required Competencies/Skills:

  • Experience using C/C to develop embedded software

  • Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team

  • 3 years of experience

  • Minimum of BS in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or similar

Preferred Competencies/

Skills:
  • Experience writing low level software such as drivers and BSPs

  • Experience with Communication Protocols such as Ethernet, RS232/422, GigE Vision, etc.

  • Experience working with other programming languages such as C#, MATLAB, Python, etc.

  • Experience in the Defense, Space, Aerospace, or similar industries

  • Experience using Nios II and Altera/Intel tools

  • Experience using software version control tools

  • Experience using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, DMMs, and basic lab equipment

  • Experience with Windows Development Environments (Linux a plus)

  • Basic knowledge of circuits, schematics, and hardware design

Education:

The applicant must have at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
