Basic Function:
Excitement and eagerness to learn and implement new system and capabilities in the airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) mission space.
In this position, the candidate will be responsible for the architecture, design, development, and integration of ISR software systems.
In this position, the candidate will perform as a technical lead on projects and business pursuits as a Senior Systems Engineer with an understanding of disciplined system engineering processes as well as technical domain knowledge.
In this position, the candidate will plan, execute, and provide systems engineering leadership for projects with multiple team members including systems architecture and design, documentation (such as test plans and procedures, requirements definition and verification) and perform on-site integration and test at customer facilities.
This position will provide opportunities to work directly with technical peers, chief engineers, systems engineering, program managers within the company, and independent interactions with external facing customers.
Responsibilities:
This job requires the candidate to perform software engineering tasks, inclusive of those identified below, with minimal supervision:
Lead ISR systems technical requirements development, architecture, design, integration, and test efforts
Perform technical trade studies related to ISR systems
Develop risk management and mitigation plans for complex systems
Contribute on proposal generation encompassing technical performance, cost, and schedule
Incorporate Systems Engineering rigor with respect to requirements development, segmentation, flow-down, verification, and validation
Provide technical leadership to systems engineering and software engineering teams on projects
Provide technical guidance to the project team regarding technical decisions on each project in the areas of:
Digital Signal Processing and Software Architecture Implementations
Systems (SW and HW) Requirements and Design
Detailed Hardware Design and Implementation
Detailed Software Design and Implementation
Systems Integration and Test
Demonstrate domain technical knowledge regarding Signal Processing Architectures and Systems related to ISR
Work closely with program management, chief engineers, and principal engineers to appropriately identify and manage challenging issues
Experience:
Required:
10+ years of experience with a minimum of seven (7) years in signal collection and signal processing systems
Current DoD Top Secret Security Clearance
Preferred: DoD SCI Security Clearance
Education:
Required: Bachelor's degree in the field of Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university
Preferred: Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited university
Skills:
Understanding and demonstrated ability with the systems engineering requirements process and Vee model
Understating of and experience with airborne ISR direction finding systems
Experience with software defined radios and their application in ISR systems
Experience with wireless communications systems and protocols using AM, FM, BPSK, QPSK, QAM
Understanding of electromagnetic fundamentals related to antennas and receiving systems
Proven ability to successfully operate in a highly collaborative team environment
Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced small business environment
Possess excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communication
Willingness to seek-out and assume increasing responsibilities as work-load changes
Experience in successfully leading technical teams throughout a project life cycle
Other:
Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (requires U.S. Citizenship).
Salary Range: $ 140,000- $215,000/ year
