Job Description:

Are you an expert in the development of robust, scalable software platform on Linux? If so, then you might be the Embedded Software Engineer that we are looking for in Danfoss Cooling.

Danfoss Cooling is the leading supplier to the refrigeration and air-conditioning industries. We have a broad product technology portfolio (e.g. electronic controls for automation, smart sensors, world's first magnetic bearing compressors, high-pressure pumps for reverse osmosis, heat recovery solutions, energy storage and grid applications, remote data monitoring services), serving customers along the cold chain within commercial refrigeration, air-conditioning and industrial refrigeration, as well as food retail.

You will be part of Danfoss Cooling Segment Platform Architecture, currently consisting of 20 team members located in Denmark, India and USA. The position is preferred located in Nordborg or Vejle, Denmark or in Hamburg, Germany, and entails up to 20 travel days per year. You will report to the Director for Platform Architecture.

Development of robust, scalable software platform on Linux

As our new Embedded Software Engineer, you will participate in the development of a robust, scalable software platform on Linux, primarily written in C++11. In tight co-operation with a team of 3-6 developers, you shall contribute within one or more of the following areas:

  • Develop solutions for data exchange on different kind of communication lines such as TCP/IP, Modbus and Lon

  • Document the design based on UML

  • Develop automated test set ups for unit tests, component tests and integration tests

  • Contribute actively on platform concepts in a distributed embedded environment

Initiative consultant with extensive experience with tools and technologies

You hold a Master's Degree in Computer Science or related software engineering field.

We expect you to be proficient in C/C++11/C#, in particular the standard library. You have experience in development of multi-threaded and multi-process application.

You also have good knowledge of field busses like Modbus and Lon. Furthermore, you are proficient in writing testable code. You have experience with UML primarily class-, component- and state-diagrams, and you are a structured software designer using best practice. Finally, we expect you to have solid skills in English, both verbally and in writing.

As a person, you take initiative and draw on your experience to propose design solutions for the features. With your solid analytical skills, you can secure the foundation of quality.

You are used to working independently in a dynamic environment with many deadlines to be met. You have a positive and open-minded attitude, and you are a good team player.
