Facilities Maintenance Specialist II - 2nd Shift Lead

Title of Position: Facilities Maintenance Specialist II - 2nd Shift Lead

Bargaining Unit/Salary Range: MSEA Support Services; Level 11; Starting Salary: $18.00/hour including 2nd shift differential.

Job Summary: Primary responsibility is general custodian work to include extensive cleaning of the facilities, classrooms, dorms, bathrooms, and other buildings on campus. Responsibilities also include minor building maintenance, such as snow removal from doorways, light bulb replacement, light carpentry tasks, minor plumbing and individual associated tasks as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma and\or G.E.D. equivalent.

  • Knowledge, skills, and experience associated with all or most of the above.

  • Continued possession of a valid Maine driver's license.

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and perform a variety of manual tasks.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to plan, direct, and review work of others in various aspects of custodial and building maintenance work.

  • Knowledge of EPA, OSHA and hazardous material requirements, compliance, and recordkeeping.

  • Ability to work independently without needing direct supervision.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Associate Degree.

  • Operation of both manual and automatic cleaning equipment.
