DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTION The Emergency Medicine Program Coordinator functions under the direct supervision of Chairman of Emergency Medicine. Under the supervision of the Chairman the Coordinator is responsible for all provider scheduling of BMC Main ED, the North Adams Satellite ED and the Urgent Care Center. The EM Program Coordinator is responsible for scheduling, coordination and orientation including Meditech Expanse education and training of all new providers, students and residents including Baystate Emergency Medicine Residents that rotate through the department. The EM Program Coordinator will assist in gathering and organizing department flow and quality data. The EM Program Coordinator is responsible for scheduling all weekly department updates and monthly department meetings and prepares monthly meeting agendas and minutes and assist with presentation preparation and dissemination of information regarding process changes. The EM Program Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Emergency Medicine Leadership Team, Providers and the Nursing Clinical Educator and other departments as necessary. Responsibilities require exercising independent judgment, excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle processing of sensitive information. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.) Experience: At least 2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in an Emergency Department setting, such as a unit coordinator, scribe or medical assistant. Supervisory experience is preferred. Education and Training: Associate#s Degree in a healthcare related field or business related field preferred. License, Certification

None. Other Requirements: Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment with multiple demands and frequent interruptions. Ability to work independently and prioritize and coordinate multiple job responsibilities to meet the needs of the department. Must be able to handle the stress of deadlines in a high-pressure position. Ability to use Microsoft applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint for correspondence, presentation, and data analysis purposes. Proficiency with Meditech Expanse is preferred. Proficiency in Medical Terminology is required.
