Overview

The Safety Manager provides technical expertise, strategic leadership, and support for all of ELS's various facilities, departments, on regulatory compliance issues in Safety and Health for Elite Line Services, Inc.

Responsibilities

  • Reports to top management on the safety system's performance and makes recommendations for needed improvements.

  • Develop, review and revise Safety policies in compliance with changing or new regulations.

  • Develop the overall strategy of continuous improvement for ELS's Health and Safety Initiatives.

  • Keep Management informed of any changes in regulations.

  • Maintain records and compile statistical reports concerning safety related data.

  • Prepare and follow budget for Safety department.

  • Counsel and assist management with safety related prevention and/or concerns.

  • Develop, review and revise Safety prevention and reward programs.

  • Safety contact point for outside organizations, including customers and third parties.

  • Analyze all incidents to put in place steps to prevent future occurrence.

  • Visits worksites to ensure compliance with State/Federal regulatory requirements and corporate program initiatives.

  • Utilize outside resources in order to monitor issues and concerns in OSHA regulations and communicate potential changes to senior management.

  • Report recordable and/or other serious injuries to Daifuku Japan.

  • Compliance with ELS safety program policies and procedures in contracts.

  • Maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the employer's insurance policy.

  • Perform additional duties/assignments as may be required by management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Safety Management, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Basic or Applied Science, Environmental Science, or any other related subject.

  • 3+ years' leadership/managerial experience within the Health and Safety function.

  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • 3+ years' experience in conducting training in a classroom environment.

  • 3+ years' experience working in a multi-state environment.

  • Knowledge of baggage handling, ground support equipment and passenger boarding bridge maintenance activities.

  • Ability to travel in excess of 25% of the time.

  • Ability to establish priorities in a changing environment

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field and 5+ years' experience in leadership/managerial experience within the Health and Safety function.
  • 5+ years' experience in conducting training in a classroom environment.
  • 5+ years' experience working in a multi-state environment.
  • 3+ years' experience working with baggage handling, ground support equipment and passenger boarding bridge maintenance activities.

Computer Skills:
Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Contract redline/tracking), E-mail, scanning and copying equipment.

Other Requirements:
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Coordinate with company leadership, Business Development, and Operations teams. Responsibilities * Comply with ELS Safety Program policies and procedures. * Work with the Director of Business Development and team to create new sales and marketing strategies that target customers and position the company to be the winning solution during the RFP process. * Identify current and future customer requirements by establishing personal rapport with key stakeholders. * Conduct market research and maintain data consisting of, but not limited to: service opportunities, competitor analysis, labor rates, margin expectations, and additional opportunities beyond the scope detailed in the RFP request. * Prepare cost and pricing information based on RFP documentation, system drawings and asset lists, local market intelligence, and all associated data required to successfully complete a quality RFP response. * Collaborate with various departments to determine how services can best be presented, modified, added, or otherwise improved to promote the sale of said services. * Participate in the delivery of technical presentations to customers to explain data inputs, service expectations, and answer any associated questions as part of the RFP process. * Translate and explain highly complex technical information to customers and potential customers. * Identify improvements and opportunities at existing customer locations by analyzing current site operational and performance data, based on available business segments supported by the company. * Create recommendations to eliminate waste, reduce cost, drive efficiency, and improve service levels. * Prepare, publish, and review reporting related to RFP data intelligence, including ongoing recommendations for cost reduction, service improvements, and RFP response quality. * Maintain professional and technical expertise by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations and events. * Perform additional duties and assignments as may be required by leadership. Qualifications PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or Business Administration, or equivalent business development work experience. * 5+ years' experience in business development, preferably within the airport or technical background and in a customer contract environment. * Relative project management experience. * Intermediate knowledge of industry policies and procedures. * Intermediate knowledge of activities within customer and stakeholder environments.
