About the Job

As an Invasive Cardiology Tech in our Cardiology Cath Lab, you will perform technical and supportive patient care tasks to assist physicians in performing invasive cardiovascular procedures. You will follow the standards set forth by the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions under the direction of the Cardiovascular Services Clinical Nurse Manager and Medical Director.

What You'll Do

• Assist in diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures.

• Support various cardiovascular procedures, including cardiac device implantation, electrophysiology studies, transesophageal echocardiograms, and electrical cardioversions.

• Perform emergency procedures such as IABP insertion and temporary pacemaker insertion.

• Operate hemodynamic monitoring and recording systems to ensure accurate analysis of cardiovascular functions.

• Utilize technical equipment in the cardiac cath lab, including imaging systems and cath lab tables.

• Monitor and communicate changes in patient conditions during and after procedures.

• Demonstrate competency in pre, intra, and post-procedure requirements specific to the Cardiac Cath Lab and recovery area.

• Collaborate effectively with team members and support organizational goals and initiatives.

Who You Are

• You have thorough knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and hemodynamics.

• You possess critical thinking skills and can effectively manage emergent patient situations.

• You have the ability to recognize cardiac rhythms and life-threatening arrhythmias.

• You work independently, take initiative, and prioritize tasks efficiently.

• You demonstrate superior customer service skills and have excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.

• Education: Graduate of an accredited cardiovascular technology certification program or an Applied Science Associate's degree or Associate's degree in radiology technology.

• Experience: Minimum of two years of experience in a cardiac cath lab or interventional radiology.

• Certification/Licensure: BCLS and ACLS certification (to be completed within six months). Professional certification from an accredited body in radiology or cardiology, such as RCIS, RTR, or ARRT.
