RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plan and implement Individualized Language Plans for a variety of ELL students.
Design curricular units to effectively advance English language acquisition in pull-out sessions.
Collaborate with regular classroom teachers to design and carry out interventions for their ELL students.
Schedule ELL student instructional sessions at multiple schools.
Provide in-service training for faculties on selected ELL topics.
Participate in initiatives for ELL, reading or language curriculum improvement.
Secure certification for and administer the ACCESS test and language proficiency screeners.
Screen incoming students for language proficiency.
Schedule and conduct placement/exit meetings; participate in P.S.T. (Problem Solving Team) meetings and parent conferences as needed.
Attend workshops, faculty meetings and other events at assigned school.
Lead and participate in evening meetings for ELL parents as needed.
Assist with translation needs if bilingual. Schedule and secure translators as needed.
Maintain timely records on ELL students. Secure monitoring forms from teachers quarterly.
Inventory, distribute and retrieve ELL materials and texts.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
