What you will be doing:

As an Eligibility Technician 2 (ET2), you will be part of the statewide Public Assistance Eligibility Team. Together, we will help Alaskan families, elders, and other individuals in need reach higher levels of independence and self-sufficiency by connecting them to the variety of public assistance programs our agency provides.

This position joins a statewide eligibility workflow team in local Public Assistance offices across the state.  The work location is 304 Lake Street in Sitka.

To be successful in this position a candidate will need the following core competencies in:

One year of entry level experience as an Eligibility Technician 1 with the State of Alaska;

OR

One year performing similar work that developed knowledge and skills in applying program requirements and working with client customers in stressful situations.

Substitution:

Post-secondary education in such fields as sociology, social work, psychology, counseling, human services, vocational rehabilitation, developmental disabilities, behavioral sciences, business, public administration, or accounting may substitute for the required experience (undergraduate credits: 2.67 semester/4 quarter hours = 1 month).At the time of the interview, please provide the following: 

  • A copy of academic transcripts (unofficial are okay; please ensure that the institution name/URL is listed on the transcripts) is used to verify that you meet the minimum qualifications.

  • Last two (2) years of performance evaluations, if available.

WORK EXPERIENCE
