ABOUT THE POSITION
The County of Riverside's Riverside University Health System (RUHS) Medically Indigent Services Program (MISP) is currently recruiting to fill a vacancy for an Eligibility Specialist Supervisor II. This position will support the Medically Indigent Service Program in Moreno Valley, CA.
The most competitive candidates will have experience with eligibility services for or more public social service aids or medical assistance programs as well as the experience to review, evaluate, investigate, and justify eligibility determinations with at least one year of lead or supervisory experience.

EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Plans and directs through subordinate supervisors the operations of Medically Indigent Services Programs.
Reviews statistical reports; reviews current MISP procedures to ensure conformity and efficiency by all units.
Reviews the actions taken by subordinate supervisors respective to disciplining of assigned staff; reviews selection of temporary and regular employees; reviews employee performance evaluations performed by subordinate supervisors for consistency.
Conducts employee performance evaluations for supervisors; reviews training procedures and processes.
Researches and implements special studies and projects; makes recommendations for organizational or procedural changes to develop a more efficient organization.
Directs and coordinates through subordinate supervisors, procedural modifications resulting from policy changes or changes in state, county or federal laws relating to the work; prepares manual of office procedures.
Experience: Two years of experience as an Eligibility Specialist III in an Medically Indigent Services Program setting and one year of that experience in a lead or supervisory capacity as an Eligibility Specialist III in a Medically Indigent Services Program setting.
Education: Completion of 60 semester or 90 quarter units from a recognized college with a minimum of 15 semester or 23 quarter units in one or more of the following areas: public or business administration, social or behavioral science, supervision, or a closely related field; Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on the basis of one year of experience for 30 semester or 45 quarter units of college level course work.
Experience: Two years of experience equivalent to Riverside County's Medically Indigent Services Program's Eligibility Specialist III or three years of experience equivalent to Riverside County's Medically Indigent Services Program's Eligibility Specialist II classification; one year of the experience must have been in a supervisory or lead capacity.
Knowledge of: The functions of SLIAG/Amnesty criteria and cards; Medical Regulations; SSI/SSD Regulations; MISP eligibility criteria and scope of services; the principles of supervision; training and instructional methods and techniques.
Ability to: Plan, assign and supervise the work or others; speak and write effectively; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with fellow employees and the general public; work effectively with other disciplines; train and develop staff, identify problems requiring referral to other agency staff; use available sources of information effectively in determining eligibility; be proficient on a person
