POSITION: Elementary Title I Teacher (Grades K-5)

LOCATION: East Leroy Elementary School

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

SALARY: Per Athens Education Association Master Agreement

EFFECTIVE DATE: August 2024

Minimum Qualifications:

• Possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university

• Valid Michigan teaching certificate

• Certification in Reading (BT) or Reading Specialist (BR) preferred

• Strong knowledge of research-based instructional practices in literacy built on the foundation of the Science of Reading and the GELN Essential Practices

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the principal to coordinate the school-based Title I program (including staff scheduling, student selection, and progress monitoring).

• Communicates with classroom teachers, principal, and staff to determine the program needs and improvement areas.

• Coaches, models, and works directly with teachers and staff to provide research-based instructional practices to improve student outcomes in the classroom.

• Conducts ongoing progress monitoring of at-risk students, reports progress to principal, teachers and families, and utilizes the data to drive Title I instruction.

• Provides small group and/or individual instruction to meet the needs of at-risk students.

• Be willing to participate in a variety of extra-curricular and co-curricular activities including staff development and curriculum development.

• Be willing to work as part of a building team for the improvement of instruction.

• Be open to continuous change.

• Be an excellent communicator with students, parents and colleagues.

• Maintain regular, reliable and punctual attendance.

• Perform other related duties as assigned.
