This position is for an elementary Classroom Teacher to begin in August 2024. California International School (CIS) is a private, fully accredited (WASC) project-based learning STEAM school located in Rocklin California. RELATIONSHIPS, QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES Reports to: Head of School Supervision of: Educational Assistants, Student Teachers, Volunteers and Students Education: o BS or BA Degree (required) o MS or MA Degree (preferred) o Out of State or CA teaching Credential (Strongly Preferred) Experience and Expertise: o Demonstrate maturity and ability to lead groups of students o Experience working with elementary children in teaching and supervising capacity o Demonstrate knowledge and command of the subject matter • Employment Requirements: o Must pass a pre-employment background check including: reference checks, criminal background checks, previous employment verification and proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. JOB DUTIES Planning and Preparation: • Create and update a yearly annual plan/scope an sequence • Employ a variety of instructional aids, methods and materials that ensure the student is able to meet the highest learning standards • Develop and a plan for evaluation of student work • Ensure that appropriate materials and tools are utilized to support daily learning • Plan according to the backwards lesson design for project-based learning • Learn about and be well-versed on the expectations of a project-based learning classroom Instructional: • Employ project-based learning methods, which include hands-on opportunities and inquiry based instruction and learning practices • Demonstrate command of and enthusia
