Charlie Keyan Armenian Community School is Pre-K to 6th grade. It is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools & Colleges (WASC). We are excited to see the continued growth of our school, and as a result, we will need more teachers to join our family! We are currently looking for an elementary teacher to join us in the upcoming 2024-2025 academic year. Essential Functions: • Plan, prepare and implement lessons and materials for classes and activities. • Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests. • Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods such as lectures, discussions, and hands-on activities. • Maintain communication with students and parents on their progress in the class. • Attend faculty meetings and serve on committees as requested. • Closely monitor student learning in order to understand how students are progressing toward the learning objectives and provide students with instructive and timely feedback that will move their learning forward. • Establish a classroom environment that is safe and supportive, risk-taking is encouraged, students feel free to contribute their ideas, and teacher and student interactions are respectful and polite to promote a positive learning environment for all students. • Provide clear behavior expectations for students and monitor student behavior throughout the class and school campus. • Follow established policies and procedures for reporting incidents (e.g., child abuse, etc). Required/Desired Qualifications: • Excellent communication skills. • Ability to compose and comprehend written communication. • Strong commitment to being a part of a collaborative team with colleagues and administration. • Ability to work effectively and sensitively with all constituencies involved in a school; students, parents, and faculty. • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff members, and community.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education (K-6) -CA Multiple Subject Teaching Credentials preferred but not required

• Must have prior teaching experience in Western/Eastern Armenian, and Spanish

• Letter(s) of Recommendation
