LOCATION: Murray Avenue SchoolRESPONSIBILITIES:- Plan, prepare and deliver culturally responsive lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning and engagement
Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and progress, and modify instructional methods to fit individual student's needs
Communicate with the Instructional Support Team and parents regarding student progress and areas for growth
Utilize relevant technology and instructional materials to support and differentiate instruction- Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with colleagues- Demonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds
Encourage family involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and families
Promote a classroom environment that is safe, welcoming and affirming for all students- Work in a collaborative teaching environment, including co-teaching and interdisciplinary planning
Communicate effectively orally and in writing POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: - In depth knowledge of social emotional learning approaches and experience in implementing SEL to cultivate a classroom that is affirming and welcoming
Thorough knowledge of the NYS elementary learning standards
Knowledge of the RTI process and ability to effectively communicate with the Instructional Support Team and parents regarding student progress and areas for growth
Demonstrated knowledge of NYS Culturally Responsive-Sustaining Frameworks- Ability to analyze data to improve instructional practice and student learning outcomes- Ability to engage in self-reflection with regard to performance and professional growth; actively seek professional learning opportunities
