Teach and case manage a small classroom of students requiring direct, appropriate individualized and small group instruction, based on IEP goals and objectives, within a highly supported setting. Support of these students is also required within the general education classroom setting or according to their individual IEP. This will include:

• Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of developing and implementing IEPs, conducting and analyzing assessments, have strong communication skills, and a willingness to work collaboratively with students, staff, and families.

• Training and/or certification in specialized reading programs such as Wilson or Orton-Gillingham is preferred.

There is a strong focus on self-management skill development to prepare students for academic success in the small classroom setting as well as within a large group setting.

Experience working with students with learning disabilities, reading disabilities and social-emotional-behavioral needs is a must for this position.

A strong background in design and implementation of elementary curriculum for students with learning differences, as well as experience with organizational skill development is essential to this position.

Qualifications Profile

MA State Certification for Classroom Teacher and/or Special Education Teacher K-5.

Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.

Masters Degree preferred.

Experience

Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level or discipline preferred.

Grade K-5 Pull-Out/Inclusion Special Education Teacher.
