Elementary Special Education Teacher

Gateway Regional School District is seeking two Elementary School Special Education Teachers. Candidates will hold a current MA (K-8) Student with Moderate Disabilities certification. Must have experience educating students with a wide range of disabilities including SLD, ADHD, High Functioning Autism, Social Emotional. The ideal candidate will be able to deliver and manage academic and behavioral support and interventions.Duties and Responsibilities:●Supports students by providing appropriate accommodations and modification of curriculum for special education students.●Works to ensure the rights of students with disabilities to be full participants in the general curriculum.●Implements state and federal laws and regulations as they apply to special education.●Participates in the development of and oversees implementation of IEPs for students.●Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.●Evaluates and maintains data on pupils' academic growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.●Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss student progress.●Administers standardized tests in accordance with district protocols and to determine special education eligibility.●Participates in curriculum development as required.●Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications●Must be certified by MA DESE licensure standards - Mild/Moderate Disabilities●Must have excellent communication, written, and interpersonal skills.
