Under the supervision of the K-12 Director of Curriculum and Instruction, the principal serves as the educational leader. The ACES Principal is responsible for the comprehensive management of the school, ensuring that educational objectives are achieved through effective leadership, strategic vision, and fostering a supportive and inclusive school culture.
This role demands a dedicated leader who can inspire, manage, and elevate both staff and students toward academic excellence and personal growth. The ACES Principal is responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a high-quality comprehensive educational program and must administer the program in accordance with school board policies and administrative rules and regulations. The principal is expected to embody, promote, and lead the Accelerated Schools' mission, vision, and policies.
Achieving academic excellence requires that the principal work collaboratively as a steward to direct and nurture all members of the school staff and to communicate effectively with all educational partners. Inherent to the position are the responsibilities for scheduling, curriculum development, extracurricular activities, personnel management, emergency procedures, and facility operations.
