Job Description Position: Elementary School Principal (TK-8) Reports to: Superintendent Basic Function/ Goal Objectives: Under the direction of the Superintendent, the Principal serves as the educational leader of the school; is responsible for direction of the instructional program, operation of the school plan, participation in staff and student activities; and exercises leadership in the community. The TK-8 Elementary School Principal helps facilitate professional development activities, coordinates the site services, interventions, and extended learning opportunities. Distinguishing Characteristics: The TK-8 Elementary School Principal will adhere to applicable laws, rules and regulations of the State, County and Governing Board in meeting the educational needs of the students. It is expected that the TK-8 Elementary School Principal will support the educational process of the school and the District to achieve the best atmosphere for the student and to provide a positive student-oriented educational environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Plan, organize, control and direct instructional activities, special programs and plant operations at school site; confer with District Leadership regarding staff, programs, students, finances and legal requirements; implement and modify the school's mission, goals, objectives and programs as needed. • Enforces the administrative and teaching calendar adopted by the Board of Trustees. • Interview, select, direct, evaluate and supervise certificated and classified personnel; assign faculty and staff as appropriate to meet school objectives. • Direct and participate in a planned program of classroom visitations and observations; recommend discipline, reassignment or termination action as appropriate; document evidence of substandard performance. • Enforce applicable State and District codes, policies and laws; administer District and school site discipline policies and safety programs. • Direct the evaluati

Requirements / Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree, including all courses needed to meet credential requirements Current California Administrative Services Credential Required Minimum of 3 current letters of recommendation Copy of College Transcripts Masters Degree preferred Five years successful multi-level elementary and/or middle school or higher teaching experience.

Comments and Other Information

Education and Experience: • Bachelors Degree and valid multiple subject teaching credential or valid single subject teaching credential. • Five years successful multi-level elementary and/or middle school or higher teaching experience. • A valid California Administrative Services Credential. A minimum of three years of service in an Administrative or Supervisory position utilizing an administrative credential. • Master's Degree Preferred • Valid California Class C Driver's License
