Job Summary

The Brookside Elementary School community actively involves all children in becoming passionate, innovative, and culturally enriched life-long learners. They provide a foundation for students to reach their full potential through a comprehensive, rigorous, standards- aligned curriculum that is enhanced by technology.

Meaningful learning opportunities empower children to be independent thinkers, problem solvers, and responsible citizens. The Elementary Principal shall have the ability to lead a qualified teaching staff in meeting the instructional needs of all students. Must possess knowledge of curriculum development, innovative teaching and learning practices, program evaluation, child development, special education, full inclusion, and GATE.

Work as a collaborative member of a school and district team that includes teachers, parents, classified staff, administrators and students. The Board of Education and Superintendent are looking for someone with the professional and personal characteristics to lead a highly trained, committed and progressive staff in continuing the school's outstanding tradition of academic excellence. Interviews will take place the beginning of June. Position starts July 1, 2024.

  • Letter of Introduction *Resume *2-3 Letters of Recommendation (within 3 years) *Copy of California Teaching Credential and California Administrative Services Credential *Copy of official transcripts (Master's Degree in Education or related field: Doctorate preferred) *3 Copies of professional writing (staff/parent communications, newsletters, etc.) *Response to the following writing prompt:

    As an Administrator in Oak Park, you will serve a diverse group of learners in your role each day. Please describe how your own educational philosophies, practices, and strategies ensure equity for all students, particularly those who are underrepresented. Minimum of five years successful teaching experience including elementary.

    Master's Degree in Education, with emphasis in Administration and Supervision preferred. Experience with all aspects of school leadership, including curriculum, teaching and learning, assessment, and building relationships with all stakeholders.
