Elementary Library/Media Specialist

Job Description: Certified Position

• Library/Media Specialist in a K-4 building with approximately 440 students currently enrolled.

• Maintain a safe and orderly classroom where student needs are met through the standards based curriculum, instruction is delivered and progress is measured through consistent assessment; Maintain day to day operations of the library

• Handle ordering of all library supplies and books

• Oversee building technology in regard to laptop check-out and repairs

• Establish a culture of love for literature

• Collaborate with and assist Technology teacher with creation and implementation of lessons; Other duties as assigned.

• Contract 190 days; 7.5 hrs/day

Job Requirements:

• Strong leadership qualities and excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

• Very proficient at accessing and using a variety of media

• Ability to deliver professional development to staff as requested

• Valid Teaching License required.
