•Plan and implement the health curriculum for grades 1-3
Provides learning experiences in the subject area, guided by the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks and district standards and requirements, while creating an environment that is conducive to student learning.
Maintain classroom management. Develop, model, and practice class procedures and routines
Create a positive, inviting, and safe learning environment while modeling enthusiasm for learning
Instruct utilizing technology, varied instructional modules and utilize good teaching practices.
Prepare for lessons by making copies, having all materials readily available and maintaining a schedule.
Evaluate individual students using department-developed common assessment tools, maintain up-to-date records of student progress
Modify instructional practices to meet individual student needs
Attends and participates in faculty meetings and other assigned meetings and activities according to school policy
Communicate high expectations to all learners, as well as realistic and consistent expectations for student behavior and applies appropriate consequences
Collaborate with members of the PreK-12 Physical Education & Health department to review, develop and execute a rigorous district curriculum aligned to state standards
Assume a leadership role in implementing a social/emotional curriculum and Positive Behavioral Intervention and Supports (PBIS)
Perform other related duties as required by the Principal
