Elementary Grade 5 Academic Classroom Teacher
Qualifications:
1.Candidate must hold an appropriate Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) license.
2.Understanding of the legal, professional and ethical issues that affect Massachusetts schools
Responsibilities:
1.Create and implement daily lessons using a variety of instructional strategies
2.Prepare, implement and grade a variety of assessments to support student learning
3.Plan, organize and deliver MA DESE 5th grade curriculum frameworks to address the learning needs of students while supporting the school and district mission
4.Foster a safe and supportive school climate by demonstrating and promoting positive interpersonal relationships with students, staff, parents/guardians, and community partners
5.Implement individual planning interventions in collaboration with partners (e.g., teachers, specialists, parents, mentors) to: strengthen learning opportunities and develop students' planning and decision making skills
6.Develop educational plans for students, individually and in groups to promote accurate and appropriate interpretation of assessment data and relevant information
7.Involve parents/guardians, teachers, administrators and support services staff as needed
8.Monitor and track student progress on a regular basis to: ensure equity in access and delivery modify or develop curriculum and interventions as needed
9.Manage and use time effectively in order to: ensure adherence to a master calendar for curriculum implementation
10.Distribute and post a calendar of events and services or newsletter updates for timely access by students and parent/guardians
11.Collect and analyze student learning data to: establish goals and activities that work to close the student achievement gap
12.Maintain accurate student records
13.Performs other duties that may be assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
