The Eastchester School District is seeking a qualified experienced educator, with an expertise in Early Childhood Education, to fill the leave replacement vacancy of Kindergarten Teacher, in the Waverly School.

The successful candidate for this leave replacement position will plan and execute lessons, and work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to meet the needs of students. Experience working in an inclusion classroom is preferred, but not required. Assessments utilized in classroom include BAS and NWEA. Familiarity with the following programs is preferred:

• Heggerty for phonemic awareness

• Fundations for phonics

• Teachers College Reading & Writing Workshop program/model

• Fountas and Pinnell guided reading

• Reveal Math Program

• Science 21

• Social Studies BOCES curriculum

Requirements:

• NYS certification: Elementary/Early Childhood Education
• NYSED Fingerprint Clearance*

Employment Terms:

• Per diem leave replacement assignment beginning October 2024

• Salary range: $61,939 - $85,725, step placement contingent upon prior related experience. Salary to be prorated at a per diem rate of 1/200.

• Fingerprint Clearance: SAVE Law: Effective July 1, 2001, Education Law §§305(30), 3004-b, 3004-c and 3035, as amended by Chapter 180 of the Laws of 2000, and Part 87 of the Commissioner's Regulations require the Commissioner of Education to request a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check for applicants for certification as well as for prospective employees of school districts, charter schools and boards of cooperative educational services (BOCES). The Commissioner of Education carries out these responsibilities through the New York State Education Department's Office of School Personnel Review and Accountability (OSPRA).
