Position Responsibilities:

Administrator in charge of the districts new trauma and Behavior Center

Reports to:

Assistant Superintendent

FLSA Status:

Exempt, Certified, Administrative

Compensation:

Based on a 200 Day Contract

Duration:

Full-Time Contract

Overview:

This is a new program to assist student who have childhood trauma and behavioral issues in a small individualised environment. The focus is not singly special education focused in order to meet the needs of both identified and regular educaation elementary aged students. The goal is to provide student with skills and strategies to be successful in classrooms and ready to learn.

Essential Responsibilities:

Supervision and evaluation of the center's instructional program.

Strives continually toward enhancing the instructional process.

Assists in the supervision and evaluation of all staff to enhance their performance.

Takes an active interest to promote personal and professional development, PLC's

Becomes trained in: teacher evaluation system and software, Essential Learnings, PLC's, and PBIS.

Establish and maintain an effective climate for learning.

Maintain high standards of student conduct.

Serves as a member of school and/or district committees and participates in school and/or district special projects.

Interview and selection of applicants for staff positions.

Maintain effective public relations with the community and utilizes community resources to enrich the learning process.

Keeps the assistant superintendent informed of the school's activities and issues.

Coordinates special services activities (i.e. initial screenings, case conferences, student staffings, RTI, and Section 504 referrals.)

Establish Parent relationships and contacts.

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the assistant superintendent.

Qualifications:

The preferred candidate will have experience with special education, mental health, and or trauma care.

The preferred candidate should be licensed in Administration.

The preferred candidate will have the skills to work collaboratively and cooperatively with all stakeholders.
