Trout Creek, Montana, is in the Lower Clark Fork Valley in northwest Montana. Trout Creek School is home to about 30 students in grades Early Kindergarten through 8th. Even though we are a smaller school, we are an active school in a great community.

Trout Creek School District Position Description
Position Title: Early Literacy Teacher
Reports to: Lead Teacher
Summary: Creates a flexible grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establishes effective rapport with pupils, staff and school community; and motivates pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for appropriate grade education, in accordance with each pupil’s ability.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.
Teaches district approved curriculum.
Instructs pupils in citizenship and basic subject matter specified in state law and
administrative regulations and procedures of the District.
Develops lesson plans and instructional material and provides individualized and mall group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each pupil.
Communicates regularly with parents outside normal classroom day by means of
newsletters, notes, phone calls, conferences, etc.
Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for
individual education plans.
Provides individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of the student.
Regular and consistent attendance.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor of Arts degree.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid Teaching Certificate and, if applicable, necessary endorsements.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program.
Ability to plan and implement lessons based on school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom they are assigned.
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parents, skill in oral and written communication.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and Board of Trustees policies.

While performing the duties of this job the employee:
