Elementary Curriculum

JOB TITLE:  Primary Elementary Teacher - Duncan Hutterite Colony

SALARY: $35,000 + Experience

Harlowton Public Schools is geographically in central Montana approximately 100 miles from both Billings and Bozeman; 130 miles from both Great Falls and the State Capitol of Helena; and 55 miles from Lewistown.  We are approximately two hours or less from world-class hiking, fishing, and hunting. 

Duncan Colony is approximately 11 miles west of Harlowton and transportation is provided.  The student population is 29 students, with 15 of those in grades K-4.

The teacher hired will teach a combination of grades K-4 in all subject areas (Kindergarten is only one hour per day).  There is also a grades 5-8 teacher at the colony as well.  The colony schools (3) - Springwater, Martinsdale, Duncan all operate on a five-day school week starting on September 3, 2024 and ending May 15, 2025. 

Teachers recently settled a new three-year Collective Bargaining Agreement with a 7.7% increase in salary for the first year and 3% increase for the following two years.  The Superintendent has the authority to negotiate years experience and educational credits with the candidate if hired.
