We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Literacy Teacher to join our team at Washington Primary. This is a part-time position that requires a commitment to helping young students develop their literacy skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong foundation in early literacy education.
Responsibilities:
Implement age-appropriate literacy curriculum for students in grades EK
Create engaging lesson plans and activities that promote reading, writing, and phonemic awareness
Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment
Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and provide recommendations for at-home literacy activities
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
Library and/or Counseling degree preferred but not required.
Experience working with young children in a classroom setting
Strong knowledge of early literacy development and teaching strategies
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of individual students and the classroom as a whole.
