We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Early Literacy Teacher to join our team at Washington Primary. This is a part-time position that requires a commitment to helping young students develop their literacy skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and a strong foundation in early literacy education.

Responsibilities:

  •  Implement age-appropriate literacy curriculum for students in grades EK

  • Create engaging lesson plans and activities that promote reading, writing, and phonemic awareness

  • Assess student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed

  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and effective learning environment

  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child's progress and provide recommendations for at-home literacy activities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field

  • Library and/or Counseling degree preferred but not required.

  • Experience working with young children in a classroom setting

  • Strong knowledge of early literacy development and teaching strategies

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of individual students and the classroom as a whole.
