Joliet Public Schools is seeking an Elementary Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.  Preference will be given to candidates who hold a teaching certificate with additional areas of endorsement. The district currently anticipates a fourth grade opening because of increasing enrollment.  Specific assignments will depend on candidate fit for the district.

Joliet Public Schools will give preference to certified teacher applicants.  Individuals with a bachelor degree in another field are also encouraged to apply. Joliet Public Schools is willing to work with individuals looking to pursue a new career in education. 

Joliet Public Schools is contained within a single K-12 building and serves a rural, ranching, and agricultural community.  There are just over 400 students enrolled in our K-12 program.  Our core purpose is to educate each child to be successful.  We do this through engagement and collaboration with our families, staff, and community.  We are driven by our core values of pride, integrity, work ethic, empathy, and belonging.  Joliet is located 30 minutes south of Billings and 30 minutes north of Red Lodge which allows easy access to both commercial and world class outdoor recreation opportunities.   

Salary and benefit details for the 2024-2025 & 2025-2026 school year are currently under negotiation. We strongly believe that starting teacher pay for the 2024-2025 school year will be $39,000 and $40,000 for the 2025-2026 school year.  Experienced teachers are allowed to bring up to 7 years of teaching experience into the district.  Highest possible salary for an incoming teacher will be $47,781

Included below are some of the general expectations of Joliet Public Schools and this assignment:

  • Schedule 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday, 8:00 AM to 2:30PM on Friday

  • Prepare daily lesson plans

  • Monitor students at all times during regular school hours and student events

  • Adhere to all curriculum standards

  • Apply curriculum standards to daily lessons and concepts taught

  • Use grading system developed by the district

  • Assess and evaluate current curriculum material

  • Conform to district rules as outlined in the Staff Handbook

  • Provide proper student supervision at all times including student assemblies

  • Keep data and records on all students

  • Participate in one District Parent/Teacher Conferences

  • Attend staff functions including staff meetings

  • Participate in all staff trainings

  • Extra duties as assigned in order to maintain a functional school environment
