Bilingual Therapies is in need of a SLP for an opening with a school in the Chula Vista,CA area. Qualified candidates will have a Master's in Speech Language Pathology, and must be licensed in the state of CA. To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience working in the school setting or experience with pediatrics.

Job Responsibilities/Details:

  • Start: NOW-EOSY

  • Evaluating students, and administering the appropriate treatment plans

  • Facilitating group and individual therapy

  • Making referrals to other therapist and physicians as needed

  • Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology

  • Active SLP License in California

  • Education Teaching Certification in California

  • Experience working in the school setting

  • SLP-CCC- accepting CF's

  • Accepting Monolingual and Bilingual candidates

Performs wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for assigned clinic patients as directed by Nursing or Manager. The Medical Assistant performs duties only within the scope of practice and his/her training. The Medical Assistant maintains patient confidentiality and conducts themselves in a professional manner at all times. Understands the organizations commitment to provide high quality care and promotes a patient centered environment. Essential Functions of the Job: * Facilitates patient flow by preparing patient charts for providers by performing chart prep; preferably a day in advance. This will be done by: * Reviewing charts prior to patient's scheduled appointment to assure that all requested lab work and diagnostic procedures have been completed and that the reports have been returned and are accessible to the provider. This also includes reports from specialist or hospital visits. * Assess immunization status of both peds and adult patients. * Takes vital signs, including height and weight for BMI, documents patient's chief complaints and medical history including current medications. Documents and keeps accurate charting of patient care given as required by department. Must comply with all listed immunizations quality assurance measures. * Prepares exam rooms and patients for examination and assists provider during examinations as directed. * Performs procedures such as assisting with suturing, inhalation treatments, EKG, visual testing, audiometric testing, preparing/obtaining lab specimens and other procedures as requested. * Assists with check-out by printing and reviewing patient plan according to policy. Schedules follow-up appointment for patient. * Answers, screens and directs phone calls into department as needed. * Performs follow-up on abnormal lab results and messages as instructed. * Stocks exam rooms appropriately throughout various times of the day; following standardized exam room inventory. * Cleans exam rooms appropriately throughout various times of the day * Documents in exam room's cleaning log. * Provides injections/immunizations and administers oral medications following protocol. * Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental, infection control standards including following infection disease precautions to prevent the spread of organisms. * Provides translation, verbal or written as necessary, if bilingual. * Provides back-up teaching on after care instruction and health teaching, as assigned. * Sterilizes instruments. * Provides coverage at all sites/departments as needed. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: * Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational * programs current literature, in-service meetings and workshops. * Checks inventory supply and orders supplies as directed. * Attends meetings as required. * Performs other related duties as assigned or requested by Nursing Staff or Manager. Job Requirements: Education Required (Minimum level of education): High School diploma/GED and Medical Assisting Program certificate from an accredited school. Certifications/Licenses Required: CPR certification (Health Care Provider American Heart Association) Current driver's license and car insurance coverage. Experience Required (Minimum level of experience): Externship required by Medical Assisting Program. Preferred: 1 year experience as medical assistant in an outpatient setting and/or specialty area. Verbal and Written Skills Required to Perform the Job: Bilingual (Spanish-English). Excellent fluent written and verbal communication skills. Technical Knowledge and Skills Required to Perform the Job: Medical terminology, typing skills (at least 30 wpm).
