We are seeking an experienced R&D electronics technologist to help explore and develop innovative concepts and new technologies to meet exciting and diverse national security needs spanning across security systems, robotics, unmanned aerial systems, and transportation systems. The successful applicant will support the development of various electronic subsystems that employ state-of-the-art technology.
On any given day, will be challenged to:
Design and layout prototype printed circuit boards
Fabricate through-hole or surface mount prototype electronics
Build and test development hardware
Support environmental (temperature, shock, vibration) testing
Design software for test equipment
Create innovative solutions to difficult technical problems
Serve as an alternate lab owner of a lab with specialized electromechanical equipment
Some travel may be required for this position. Due to the physical labor associated with the job, a job placement analysis and testing will be required.
Qualifications We Require
High school diploma plus three years' directly related experience
Ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance
Qualifications We Desire
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in electronics technology or related field
Strong teaming skills with the ability to successfully collaborate with other internal organizations and external production facilities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including documentation of test results and reports
Active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret clearance
Experience operating electronics test equipment
Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout software (Mentor DxDesigner/Xpedition, Altium Designer, EAGLE)
IPC Solder Training and Certification
Experience with NI LabView
