GENERAL DUTIES: The Electronics Technician, Maintenance maintains, repairs, troubleshoots, modifies and installs various types of electronic equipment and related devices such as electronic transmitting and receiving equipment (e.g., radar, radio, television, telecommunication, sonar, laser, electro-optics, infrared, telemetry, and communications systems, and navigational aids); personal and main frame computers and terminals, industrial, medical, measuring, and controlling equipment; and industrial robotic devices. The successful incumbent applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions, and applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode, and recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.Must be qualified to operate; maintain; repair; and modify complex state-of-the-art electronic, electro-optical and electro-mechanical equipment. Must be systems oriented and have the ability and knowledge to consolidate component sub-systems and assemblies into a workable system.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Primary job function will be operation and maintenance of telemetry systems at Test Site B 4-B used to support Eglin AFB Test missions. The Antenna systems track targets on test ranges which emit telemetry signals and may be airborne, land or water based. Will interface with military and civilian test customers to ensure mission success. May be required to work at other locations when requested. Must have a valid drivers license.

The Electronics Technician Maintenance III applies advanced technical knowledge to solve problems by interpreting manufacturers manuals or similar documents. Work requires familiarity with the interrelationships of circuits and judgment in planning work sequence, in selecting tools, testing instruments, and is reviewed for compliance with accepted practices. Must possess a general knowledge of electronic component characteristics to aid in the selection of replacement components and devices.

OTHER DUTIES: Will perform general housekeeping and other job related tasks of a non-technical nature such as vehicle maintenance, safety, security, housekeeping, PIPR and TMDE.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be a technical or service school graduate in electronics with a minimum of two years experience. Must be a self-starter with good interpersonal and communications skills. May assist senior technicians or work independently to maintain and repair telemetry systems equipment. Required to have a thorough knowledge of troubleshooting, repair, alignment and operation of complex telemetry antenna and data systems. Should have good working knowledge of RF, analog and digital systems, digital recorders, mono-pulse antenna tracking feeds, servo drives, RF/IF/video circuits, PCM and FM demodulators, telemetry signal processing and operation of computer controlled telemetry systems. Must be skilled in operation, application and interpretation of TMDE used to measure voltages, RF power, including spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, BERT sets, power meters, frequency counters and scalar network analyzers. This position requires some overtime.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Secret security clearance. Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Supports E-OMS operational objectives. Observes company Quality, Safety, Environmental, Security and Administrative policies; supports Process Improvement.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must be able to climb to work on telemetry towers/pedestals up to approximately 85 feet above ground level to perform electronic and mechanical repairs, corrosion control and touch-up painting. May perform work assignments in a temperature and humidity-controlled environment. Some tasks and assignments such as the installation; operation; and maintenance of mobile systems, aircraft systems, or range instrumentation will require work performance in outside environments in heat or cold with exposure to the conditions typical of various work locations. Must be able to work in confined spaces and outside in the elements.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to climb, bend, stoop, lift up to 50 pounds, pull, or carry heavy items.
