ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN (F3500-22-0775-F):

Bowhead seeks an Electronics Technician to support the WXP's Vitruvian Lab at NSWC, Crane, IN. The Electronics Technician must have experience with lab management in addition to an Electronics Technician background. The Electronics Technician will have non-supervisory lab manager duties for two RF design laboratories.

Essential functions will include:

  • Organizing and maintaining two RF design laboratories

  • Research lab needs and supplies to ensure both labs are properly resourced

  • Support instrument and equipment installation, including work orders

  • Maintain lab equipment by coordinating calibration and repair, and ensuring instruments and accessories are clean and in proper working order

  • Ensure proper registration of General Equipment and compliance with OM&S policy

  • Aid in the coordination of support from the Division ESD Coordinator to configure or certify ESD compliant workbenches

  • Assist in testing and evaluating various RF and solid-state devices

  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements In accordance with Executive Order 14042: Ensuring Adequate COVID Safety Protocols for Federal Contractors, candidates should be aware that they may be required to have received or be willing to receive the COVID-19 vaccine by date of hire.

  • An Associate's degree in Electronics or related field in addition to at least one year of experience

  • Certification to IPC J-STD-001 and IPC 7711/7721 for soldering and rework of electronic assemblies

  • Care and cautiousness in the handling of RF connectors, cables, instruments, and assemblies

  • Precision in organization, labeling, and inventorying equipment

  • Internally motivated, proactive, cooperative approach to ensuring compliance with 6S+, OM&S, and other organizational policy

  • Thoroughness in the documentation of actions completed

  • Experience with electronic measurement equipment and RF fundamentals would be of benefit, although not necessarily required

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level, however candidates with an active Secret are highly encouraged to apply. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
