We are currently recruiting for an Electronics Technician II at Central Regional Hospital in Butner, NC.  This technician will provide general electronic repair and installation services, maintain, service and modify interconnected electronic systems and will install new systems to meet the changing needs of this facility.

Job duties include but are not limited to: addressable fire alarm systems, non-addressable fire alarm systems, proximity card security systems, cable TV, nurse call systems, data cabling, telephone cabling, body alarms, closed circuit surveillance systems, fire sprinkler, pneumatic tube system, and paging systems. Regular use and monitoring of computers related to the complex systems is necessary.  The position will assist with maintenance, repair and installation of Emergency Generators, emergency lights, exit signs, high voltage distribution, transformers, breaker panels, conduit, and other systems.

This is a full-time position and eligible for the full State benefits package.  The normal working hours are Monday-Friday, 7:00 to 3:30.

  This position is deemed Mandatory during adverse weather events and subject to emergency or inclement weather call back.   The position will be "on call" several times each year.

Qualified applicants must possess and application clearly reflect work experience that demonstrates the following:

  • Valid N.C. driver's license

  • Knowledge of electronic principles as well as NEC Code.

  • Knowledge of the uses of standard and specialized electrical and electronic testing equipment.

  • Ability to modify electronic circuitry or design electronic circuits to perform unusual or innovative functions.

  • Ability to perform maintenance on non-standard electronic devices and the most complex electronic systems which are often not well documented or when effectiveness and speed of repair are necessary.

  • Ability to develop innovative electronic troubleshooting and testing procedures.

  • ADA physical requirements will be discussed in detail during the interview process

Management prefers: 

  • NC Electrical Contractor's License

  • NICET II Certification

Associate's degree in electronics from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of progressive experience in the repair and maintenance of complex electronic systems including some responsibility for the design of electronic apparatus;

or

an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Based on the nature of work performed, may require appropriate licensure by the governing board or commission.
