You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Ordnance Electronics Manufacturing Branch within the Systems Engineering Department at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division.

  • You will serve as a senior technician for the planning and development of complex prototypes and advanced engineering models for Missile/Fire Control Simulation, test and training equipment.

  • You will apply expertise in advanced or troubleshooting aspects of assigned systems.

  • You will test and evaluate electronic equipment to solve design or operational problems.

  • You will communicate with diverse audiences to resolve difficult or controversial issues.

  • You will prepare or review equipment specifications and task proposals.

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector providing technical electronics support for the design, development or testing of electronic weapons simulators, test equipment or manufacturing systems.

The AMERICAN SYSTEMS EOD Expeditionary Exploitation Unit ONE, Combined Explosives Exploitation Cell - Global Operations (CEXC-GO), program is seeking a qualified Electronics Technician. This exciting and rewarding position is a unique opportunity to support this US Navy client's mission. The ideal candidate will have overseas deployment and component-level analysis experience. As an Electronics Technician you will: * Perform exploitation and reverse-engineering on IED electronic circuit boards and develop device characterization. * Responsible for reporting and briefing critical finds to both military and DoD civilian leadership. * Identify, capture, analyze and characterize electronic devices and components from IED circuit boards for arming, firing and source characteristics. * Capture, characterize and identify IED electrical/electronic RF receiver and transmitter modules and circuit board characteristics, operating frequencies and power. * Analyze recovered electronic components including switching circuits and power sources. * Identify electronic IED components visually, conduct research and provide information, and develop accurate schematics of devices. * Analyze, demodulate and decode signals in order to extract intelligence data using standardized demodulation and decoding tools and techniques for commonly encountered signals. * Perform Electronic Data Recovery (EDR) of logical and physical data on cell phones and other media storage devices using hardware/software tools including Cellebrite UFED, XRY, FTK and other forensic tools and analyze EDR files to recover data that may be of investigative or intelligence value. * Support development of countermeasures for electronic devices/signals. * Provide information to assist in profiling and signature analysis. * Produce storyboards and technical reports on captured data. * Maintain and document chain of custody of items and data. Education and Experience: * Associate of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering Technology (AAS, two years) degree or an applicable technical field from an accredited college with 3-5 years of professional work experience in a relevant technical field or 5-7 years of professional military experience as an electronic technician. * Experience must include electronic printed circuit board (PCB) assembly and trouble-shooting, Radio Frequency (RF) field, operation of lab instrumentations including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power supplies, communication receivers, RF signal generators and handheld digital multi-meters and schematic capture tools. * Experience working with a CEXC, WTI, counter-improvised explosive device (C-IED) Team, DTK, JEFF, TEDAC, NGIC, DIA or ATF Lab is desired. * Experience developing and supporting the Weapons Technical Intelligence Enterprise. * Prior U.S. Military or civilian experience working in EOD or C-IED. * U.S. citizenship.
