About the Position: The Electronics Technician (Biomedical) position is located at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, Logistics Division, Equipment Maintenance Section, El Paso, Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a functional Subject Matter Expert (SME) for one or more of the following critical areas: Radiology, Patient Monitoring, Laboratory, Pulmonary, Anesthesia, Integrated Operating Room (IOR) and any other high end complex areas.

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, overhaul, and surveillance testing of electronic components, medical equipment and systems overseeing how lower-graded technicians' work is affecting overall systems.

  • Prepare plans of instruction and conduct training of procedures, techniques, and methods of operations, testing and calibrating medical systems and test measurement diagnostic equipment for lower graded technicians and clinical staff personnel.

  • Operate and interpret specialized Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) that supports complex equipment/systems.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includesserving as an advisor for maintenance, testing and repair, and installing of medical equipment and/or systems for a medical treatment facility and/or preparing plans of instruction, conducting training of procedures, techniques, and methods of operations, testing and calibrating medical systems and test measurement for diagnostic equipment. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-10).

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-10).
