Candidate must have an in depth knowledge of electronic enclosure fabrication or equivalent military experience. This position requires an individual with the ability to fabricate, test, install electrical and electronics assemblies in a production environment with well-developed working knowledge of computers and software applications.
Required technical skills include: ability to perform panel and chassis wiring, fabricate circuit card assemblies and assemble connectorized interconnecting cables; troubleshoot, repair and test electronics components; capability to operate general purpose laboratory instruments (Oscilloscopes, Function Generators, Digital Volt Meters, Meggars, Power Supplies, etc) with PC based computer systems. The technician will work closely with engineering personnel to support VPM production of shipboard equipment, specific Lead Yard Services contracts, Life-cycle Fleet Logistics and Industrial Sales orders. The Electronics Technician will maintain the technical skills necessary to perform to the highest quality standards for both electronic workmanship and conduct of production test documents.
HS Diploma or equivalent
