About This Role:

The Electronics Production Assembler produces high quality products through the efficient and effective operation of manual and semi-automated assembly and electronic equipment.

Essential Job Functions/Tasks:

  • Reads schematics, follows production drawings and sample assemblies, or receives verbal instructions regarding duties to be performed. Confers with engineering personnel regarding details and implications of test procedures and results.

  • Assembles finished goods and subassemblies conforming to established engineering specifications. Tests performance of electromechanical assemblies, using test instruments such as oscilloscopes, electronic voltmeters, and power supplies.

  • Crimps, stakes, screws, bolts, solders, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment.

  • Mounts assembled components, such as resistors, transistors, capacitors, integrated circuits, and sockets, onto circuit boards prior to installing into chassis panels.

  • Connects component led wires to printed circuit boards or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points, using soldering, or related bonding procedures and equipment.

  • Installs finished electronic assemblies or subassemblies in cases and cabinets. Packs finished products.

  • Acts as first line of inspection. Conducts quality audits in accordance with quality specifications.

  • Communicates effectively to support Continuous Process Improvement.

  • Notifies appropriate team members of equipment failures and/or quality deficiencies.

  • May be required to work overtime. May be required to train other electronic assemblers.

Education/Training Required and Preferred:

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience.

Experience Required and Preferred:

  • Minimum two years of Electronic Production Assembly or similar experience.

What You Bring:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to comprehend work instructions.

  • Understanding of machines and tools, including their uses and maintenance.

  • Ability to work within a team environment and demonstrate professional behavior.

  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.

  • Proficiency with computers, with the ability to perform data entry, view electronic procedures, and complete training courses.

  • Ability to use either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes (not including computers or vehicles).

  • Ability to conduct tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality or performance.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills. Must be able to accurately perform intermediate mathematical and statistical calculations and use a weight counting scale.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with members across the organization.

  • Knowledge of surface mount soldering and de-soldering.

  • Ability to properly use oscilloscopes and digital multi-meters.

  • Knowledge of electronic component types as well as ability to interpret resistor, capacitor, and other electronic component codes.

  • Knowledge of electrical safety compliance for 110/220 circuits.

The hourly rate for this opportunity ranges from $18.05 to $23.85

The Company complies with all federal/local/state regulations in regard to pay. The above represents the expected hourly range for this job requisition. Compensation offered to the successful candidate will be determined by qualifications, prior experience, other job-related factors, and geographic location.
