Electronics Instructor - Part Time Adjunct Faculty

Summary

Illinois Central College is looking for Adjunct Faculty to teach Electronics. The Adjunct Faculty will provide instruction to a diverse group of students in the area of electronics, industrial electrical, motor controls, PLCs, and digital electronics. Day and Evening course schedules are available. This may also include weekend and/or off-campus classes. If courses are available, adjuncts may continue to teach for future semesters. Adjunct Faculty teach on a part time basis up to 12 contact hours per semester.

Essential Functions

• Instruct and coordinate courses including lecture and/or lab based classes ensuring all necessary materials and tools are readily available and that safety standards are met, when appropriate.

• Follow syllabi for assigned courses communicating the expectations and schedule for the classwork.

• Maintain office hours and availability.

• Communicate with students working to ensure student success.

• Collaborate with Faculty and Staff to continuously improve and adapt the student experience to meet the needs of the student, community and institution.

• Perform related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

1.Bachelor's Degree in Electronics, Electronics Technology, or Electronics Engineering Technology; OR Associate's Degree in Electronics, Electronics Technology, or Electronics Engineering Technology & a minimum of 2000 work hours as an electronics technician; OR Successfully completing the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Apprenticeship program and a minimum of 2000 work hours as an electronics technician; OR 10 years' experience as an electronics technician.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's of Science in Engineering Technology or Engineering.
