What You Will Be Doing

  • Design switch mode AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion circuit topologies such as push-pull self oscillating, fly-back, forward, boost, buck and buck-boost converters

  • Hardware and software design involving embedded systems using microcontrollers

  • Design and evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability

What You Need for this Position

  • Must have at least 5 years industry experience working on firmware/electronics based product development, testing and validation

  • Must have knowledge and design experience with switch mode AC-DC and DC-DC power conversion circuit topologies such as fly-back, forward, boost, buck and buck-boost converters

  • Must clearly demonstrate a proven track record creating embedded software for 8 - 32 bit microcontrollers

Develop complex mechanical and structural designs. Perform basic mechanical and structural analysis using classical methods and tools. Develop design layouts, technical design criteria standards, drawings, reports, work statements, work hours estimates, and performance schedules to meet client requirements. Interface with customer and customer’s representatives on behalf of Client. Support the testing and certification of all designs. Present design concepts and finished designs to customers.  Utilize the principles of systems engineering in the development and management of specifications and customer technical requirements. <br /> <br /> <strong>Autonomy:</strong> Works independently, requiring infrequent supervision. Provides guidance to junior engineers and is instrumental in the design and development of company technical policy and organizational goals. <br /> <br /> <strong>Impact:</strong> Frequent contacts with industry peers, clients, client representatives, and decision makers regarding technical performance and progress, contractual performance and issues, and follow on work requirements. Conducts technical briefings and meetings for both internal and external consumption. <br /> <br /> <strong>Typical Minimums: </strong>Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical, or Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university or college. Ten years design or structural analysis experience in the aircraft, automotive, or mechanical design industry. 10 years SolidWorks experience or equivalent demonstrated ability of other parametric CAD systems. <br /> <br /> <strong>Preferences: </strong>Professional Engineering Registration in South Carolina. 5 years’ experience with composite material design.  Recognition as a SolidWorks Certified Professional (CSWP). <br /> <br /> ALL CANDIDATES MUST POSSESS AUTHORIZATION TO WORK LEGALLY IN THE UNITED STATES WITHOUT COMPANY SPONSORSHIP.<br />   The Raphah Company Greenville SC
